Decor varies in the privately owned homes, but all feature light, Florida-style furnishings in white or off-white rooms. All include a fully equipped kitchen, washer and dryer, overstuffed seating, and at least one dining set of at least six chairs. Homes are cleaned before guests arrive. During guests' stay, no housekeeping is available. However, all homes include a vacuum and cleaning supplies.

Most homes offer one queen bed in the master bedroom and two twin beds in other bedrooms. Some homes offer one double bed in one or more of the bedrooms.

Bronze-level homes contain basic furnishings and decor. Silver-level homes are more elaborately decorated and contain more upscale furnishings. Size of both bronze and silver homes varies from 1,200 to 1,900 square feet.

What to expect: A car is essential for staying in these homes, which are rented to vacationers when owners are not in residence. The homes are located within various subdivisions at various distances south and west of Disney World. Pine forests and citrus groves grace the semi-rural suburbs, which connect by highway to Disney, Universal, and other theme parks and attractions widely scattered west and south of downtown Orlando.

Amenity highlights: ResortQuest homes feature private pools measuring approximately 20 by 10 feet located in backyard patios that are fully enclosed by screens to protect against insects. They contain patio furniture for lounging and dining.

Insider tip: Most pools include a heater (additional fee for use charged at check-in) for winter months. If desired, a pool with a heater should be requested in the Special Request section when booking a home. Guests will receive their choice if it's available at check-in.

The spacious ResortQuest homes all have a backyard pool and patio within a screened-in porch to protect from insects.
